Chairman, Lead Scientist & Author,
Astrogenesis Research Foundation

Baldevkrishan Sharma is a visionary scientist, inventor, industrialist, and author whose life’s work spans more than five decades of relentless curiosity, disciplined innovation, and purposeful contribution to society. His journey reflects the rare synthesis of scientific rigour, entrepreneurial courage, and philosophical depth driven by a singular quest to understand not only how the Universe functions, but why humanity exists within it.

A Rashtrapati Awardee, Baldevkrishan, received national recognition in January 1974 for his patented STD Control Device, along with a cash prize presented by the then Union Minister for Industries, Dr C. Subramanium. Recommended by the National Research Development Corporation of India and the Inventions Promotion Board, New Delhi, this early honour marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to innovation rooted in public good.

His passion for science was evident from his formative years at the (Royal) Institute of Science in Mumbai, where he pursued B.Sc. (Hon.) with Physics as his principal subject and Mathematics as a subsidiary. Even as a student, his inventive spirit stood out, earning First Prize at the Science Fair Exhibition in December 1969, and again in December 1970 for developing an Automatic Gas Control and Safety Device. These achievements revealed not only technical brilliance but a mindset focused on safety, efficiency, and real-world impact.

Upon graduating from Bombay University, Baldevkrishan entered the industrial world as a Development Officer in Madras (now Chennai). Alongside refining his own inventions, he was entrusted with developing an Automatic Gun Firing System (AGFS) for the Vijayanta Tank, an Indian adaptation of the British-made Centurion Tank. The system was successfully developed and approved by DRDO. Though commercial limitations prevented large-scale execution, this experience ignited his entrepreneurial resolve and sharpened his understanding of technology-to-application pathways.

Returning to Mumbai, Baldevkrishan transformed challenges into stepping stones. In 1975, he founded Marshalls Wallpaper Co., followed by Gratex Industries Ltd. in 1985. Over the decades, these enterprises grew into market leaders, building the trusted Marshalls brand with 18 branches across India. In 2020, he stepped back from active business, assuming the role of Chairman Emeritus, leaving behind a legacy of ethical leadership and industrial excellence.

Equally committed to social progress, Baldevkrishan channels his success into service. Through the BS Marshalls Foundation, he supports education and upliftment of the underprivileged. In 2021, he founded CiiA – Creative Ideas & Innovations In Action, a national platform empowering young student innovators through awards, recognition, and mentorship. What began as a humble initiative has evolved into a respected movement, with its landmark fifth edition scheduled for February 2026.

Parallel to his industrial journey, Baldevkrishan has devoted over 28 years to deep scientific research. His books, WHO ARE WE? WHAT FOR?? and Unmasking the Hidden Fate of Carbon Emissions and the Great Discovery of its Recycling Process, bridge science, nature, and human existence. His third book introduces the Natural Universe Expansion (NUE) Law, an alternative cosmological framework addressing the limitations of existing models.

His forthcoming book, Secrets of the Universe Revealed through Hindu Gods, Symbols, Signs & Sounds, explores ancient Vedic wisdom through a Cosmo-Scientific lens.

While studying cosmic laws, he identified a missing dimension, the human role within universal functioning. This realisation led him to study astrology not as a matter of faith and belief, but as an ancient observational science linking planetary motion with human behaviour. He has since completed a comprehensive Astrology textbook integrated with a predictive software application, scheduled for publication in 2026.

Through his expanding body of work, Baldevkrishan Sharma seeks to offer humanity a unified understanding, one that bridges cosmology, nature, science, and human consciousnes inviting future generations to look at the Universe not as distant and abstract, but as intimately connected to human life itself.

He is the Founder and Leader of Two Distinguished Companies

About

He returned to Mumbai to start manufacturing, but his lack of industry experience failed him in his first venture. He joined another manufacturing company in Thane, Mumbai, as a Development Officer. He was promoted to production head and later transferred to marketing head. In 1975, he resigned and opened his company, Marshalls Wallpaper Co., which became a famous brand. Marshalls was built from ground zero to where it stands today, with innovations as a critical ingredient for its long-term success. In 2025, Marshalls will celebrate the Golden Jubilee Year Celebration. Baldevkrishan took voluntary retirement from his company in 2020 and handed the reins to his son and daughter to carry the legacy forward. He is now Marshalls Chairman Emeritus. He then started looking forward to offering monetary support and serving the socially and needy in education, health, sports, and Senior Citizens through his self-funded B S Marshalls Foundation.

About

In 2021, he initiated another philanthropic activity to give back to society, for which he once received recognition and success. He initiated CIIA (Creative Ideas & Innovations in Action) to encourage an innovation ecosystem in Institutions and the innovations done by students, giving them a platform to exhibit and interface with Innovation Users. By February 2025, the fourth edition of the CiiA-4 Exhibition and Awards will be hosted. CiiA-4 is set to showcase visionary ideas and groundbreaking solutions, inspiring entrepreneurship and creativity. The event fosters innovation and nurtures future trailblazers, transforming projects into success stories. It promises to be an unparalleled gathering of awe-inspiring inventions and Innovations.

Vision & Mission

Astrogenesis Research Foundation (ARF) aims to correlate humans with the Cosmic Universe and connect humans' physical architecture and functional systems with those of the Universe. There is a remarkable similarity between the two, which can be summarised with a one-liner statement: “As is the Universe, So is a Human.”

The Statement simplifies understanding of the Universe through a human model. It visualises a real-time model of the Universe and a possible purpose the Universe could be serving to its Creators

Studying a human from birth to death and what one does during one’s lifespan is exciting. It shows how the Natural system networks the collective activities of all humans to serve its needs and purpose. The purpose for which humans and all other 9 million species and their respective populations are created and how they serve Nature’s purpose is an essential objective of the ARF Mission. This research study is entirely scientific and not philosophical or spiritual based.
